Day 1   Fly from Sydney to Beijing (or via Shanghai) over the Pacific Ocean

Day 2-3   Discover the Great Wall and Forbidden City – the world iconic landmarks that defy imagination

The only man-made landmark visible to astronauts in the spaceship, the Great Wall stretching over 4,000 miles from the Pacific Ocean to the desert in Central Asia; then the Forbidden City, the world largest palace for China’s 24 emperors spanning over five centuries; and the Tian’anmen Square, the largest public square in the world.

Nothing was more popular than silk, tea and cloisonné exported from China to Europe during the Silk Road era. To conclude our Beijing leg, tour participants will have the opportunity to see the actual process of how silk is made at the silk factory and experience the glamour of cloisonné handcrafts at the capital of cloisonné.

Day 4-6   Explore the Terracotta Warriors in the historical city of Xian

Xian is the capital for eleven dynasties in ancient China. Among the highlights of the ancient capital tour are Terracotta Warriers, the most significant archaeological, excavations of the 20th century; the ancient City Wall; the recently reconstructed Tang Dynasty Palace and the spectacular Tang Dynasty Palace dancing show.

Day 7 Catch Flight from Xian to Yichang (or Via Wuhan by Coach) for the Yangtze River Cruise 

Day 8-11 Relax and Refresh on the Luxury Yangtze River Cruise

Originating from the foot of Himalayas, winding its way across China and eventually merging with the Pacific Ocean, the mighty Yangtze River is the largest in Asia and the third largest in the world only after the Nile and the Amazon. Relax, refresh and reinvigorate on the 5-star luxury cruise while enjoy the stunning beauty of the Yangtze River, where the mountains, forests, waterways and intriguing cliffs combine to create the fascinating scenery found nowhere else.

The luxury cruise also features fabulous folk dancing shows; an excursion to the Three Gorges Dam, the largest hydraulic engineering

project ever undertaken by mankind; excursions to the Three Small Gorges and the ‘Ghost City’ in Fengdu Town; and the welcome and farewell banquets hosted by the Captain.

Day 12  Disembark at Chongqing and Catch the Bullet Train bound for Chengdu, Capital of Sichuan

Day 13-14   Immerse in the National Panda Reserve to get up-close with giant pandas and indulge in the centuries-old well-known Wide-Narrow Alley 

Immerse yourself in the most carefully crafted, tranquil and relaxing natural reserve and get up-close and personal with giant pandas, the nation’s treasure beloved world over.

Chengdu is famous not only for being the panda capital of the world, but also for being a food paradise. Strolling through the Wide-Narrow Alley built in 1718 and tasting authentic Sichuan cuisine is a perfect way to experience the richness of the history and culture of Sichuan, China’s most populous province.

Day 15 Leave Chengdu for Shanghai

Enjoy a leisurely stroll and experience the glamour of the futuristic city – Shanghai. Among the highlights are the Bund, the legacy of European influence dating back to 19th century; the City God Temple built in 1403 and its adjacent dazzling shops – well and truly a shopping paradise for perfect gifts and souvenirs for loved ones and friends so that they can share the thrill of this ultimate tour experience.

Day 16 Return to Australia, ending the once in a lifetime experience
